Adam Love (Joint Chair)

Adam has been a parent governor for almost 7 years. He lives and works locally. Over his professional career he has gained experience in safeguarding, risk and resource management, health and safety and managing teams. He is passionate about making the school the best it can be and driving it forward whilst ensuring it retains its unique individuality.

Suzanne Farris (Joint Chair)

Suzanne is an independent occupational therapist specialising in paediatrics, working in the medical legal field, mainly in obstetric clinical negligence.  As part of this role, she supports parents to apply for EHCPs and prepare for educational tribunals. Prior to this she worked in the NHS as a clinician and senior manager. As Director of Community Services in an east London trust  she managed a portfolio of adult and children’s services including safeguarding. She has an interest in supporting the health and well-being of all children and promoting equality.  Suzanne enjoys music, singing in a church and a chapel choir, gardening and is passionate about reading and learning. She lives in a local rural hamlet with her husband and Labrador dog.  

Rev Tony Cant

Tony was born and raised in Australia, went travelling in his late teens, met his wife, and also God in New Zealand where he stayed for 15 years before moving back to Australia in early 1994. He and his family spent 5 years in Australia doing a mix of pastoral and missional work before moving to the UK in mid 1999 where he worked as a youth and community development worker in the Docks of London’s East End for 5 years. Tony was ordained in 2004 in Chelmsford Cathedral and spent a further 6 years as a Priest in Walthamstow, before becoming the Chaplain to Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford between 2010 – 2018. During this time he developed and ran the International Community Experience (ICE) volunteering projects, and grew a multi faith Chaplaincy team. Tony has held many posts over the years including: factory worker, fisherman, dairy farmer, youth and community development worker, seminar presenter and pastor, and is now the Priest-in-Charge of Writtle with Highwood, and Roxwell churches.

Reece Lake

Reece previously chaired the Resources Committee on Roxwell’s Governing Body for three years before becoming the Finance link governor when the school joined the academy. He has eighteen years’ experience working in financial services, and brings practical knowledge of budget management, change implementation and operating models from his work across both major and new starter financial institutions, from EY, Lloyds and Barclays through to Metro Bank and Atelier. Reece has been a part of the Roxwell village community since moving here at the age of 11, and aspires for Roxwell Primary School to continue to be at the heart of a thriving community for years to come.

 

Steph Nichols

Steph Nichols is a Senior Leader in a local Secondary School. She has over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience, she currently leads on Inclusion and Community, having previously held responsibilities for curriculum development and teaching and learning.

Steph is passionate about creating inclusive school environments where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. Alongside her leadership role, she teaches History and Politics across all key stages, bringing enthusiasm and real-world relevance to her classroom practice.

She holds a BA and MA in History, a PGCE, NPQSL, and the National Professional Qualification for Headship. Steph is committed to continuous professional development and strongly believes in the transformative power of education to create opportunities for all young people.

Outside of school, she enjoys sport, music, and reading, recognising the important role they play in wellbeing, creativity, and personal development.
