On a blustery day at the end of October pupils from Margaretting CofE Primary School and Roxwell CofE Primary School got their running shoes on and each completed a mile, to make a marathon, in aid of the Trussell Trust. They were delighted to be joined by European Champion Fatima Whitbread MBE, who helped them along the way and presented them with their medals. Also joining them was Julian Dutnall, CEO of the LIFE Education Trust, and Executive Head Teacher of Margaretting CofE Primary School, Maire O’Regan.
The Trust and all its schools are proud to support the Trussell Trust Foodbanks, who are working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
As a result of their efforts the pupils raised £2000 which was presented to the Chelmsford Foodbank, who provide emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. Now more than ever, the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks need the support of their local communities to donate much needed food and toiletry supplies.
